Oppositions View - Chester City

How do you assess your sides recent form?

Well it is not very good at the moment. On Tuesday we had a terrible 6-2 defeat at Dagenham. It was a very poor performance and we are in a very, very lean spell. We were up amongst the promotion contenders earlier in the

season and now we've taken just two points from a possible 33 so it is very worrying. But I have every faith in the manager Bobby Williamson.

What do you think has gone wrong?

We have had a bad time with injuries. A lot of young lads have been brought into the team and although that is nice, we have learned that you cannot put five in at one go. I cannot see any other reason really. We lost our striker John Murphy for a big spell. In that time we really missed a man who could hold the ball up front. It helps for people to feed off him.

Is Bobby Williamson coming under any pressure now?

I wouldn't say any pressure yet but he will be if things do not improve against Notts County. You are in the same boat so it is a massive game.

Do you see Chester being dragged into a relegation battle now?

We looked very comfortable out of it but all of a sudden we have been dragged right in. There are teams at the bottom who are picking up points at
Ellison...Coming back to haunt Notts?
the bottom. I think a lot of sides are looking better, especially Wrexham. I think Brian Little will get them clear of trouble.

Who is your danger man?

Kevin Elison is back from suspension. He is a big and strong player and a real threat going forward.

Who else should we look out for?

Ritchie Partridge on the wing. If he can recapture his form of earlier in the season, he will be one to watch. Things could really turn around with him back in form.

How did you assess the sides previous meeting?

I thought there was very little between the two teams. I thought they were both there for the beating and any one of us could have got the win.

What have you made of Notts' season so far?

I think they are very similar to Chester. They have the team to win games but seem to get beaten easily far too often. It is just a real lack of consitency with a lot of clubs at the moment.

Who do you see as Notts' danger man?

I personally always rate your goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington. If he is playing
Pilkington...Claiming outside plaudits
well, it is a solid base. He made a wonderful save in the last game. He talks to his defenders and seems to give confidence. He seems to motivate players in front of him. And of course, the chap up front Jason Lee. He has been around a few years and he has got the strength to hold the ball up at this level.

Where do you think Chester will finish?

If we can get things moving and get things turned around with some stability, I think just below the half way mark.

What do you think about Notts County?

I'm more worried about Chester obviously but from what I've seen in the bottom half.

What sort of encounter are you expecting?

I
Partridge...To start?
think it could be a similar game to the last between the sides. Both clubs are scrapping for points and therefore you get an attitude where players are scared to make a mistake. There is nothing there - it is ever so scrappy. Sometimes you just cannot see a goal coming.

Any team news?

Elison will come back in. I would not be surprised to see Partridge back in the team.

Prediction?

I feel we could win it 2-0!
