Opposition View - Teversal FC

Is there any essential information we should know about Teversal FC?
There has been a lot of redevelopment work taking place down at Teversal over the summer. The ground has been completely fenced in, a new gatehouse has been built, concrete hard standing has been put all around the pitch, and floodlights have been erected.

Teversal - missed out on promotion last season
All this work was done in the hope of promotion to the Northern Counties East League, but our end of season form let us down and we finished out of the promotion places in fifth position.

How was last season for Teversal?
At one point last season we were 14 points clear at the top of the table, but we had played more games than the rest of the league. Everyone took advantage of their games in hand and a slump in our form saw four of them overtake us. Three of which will be playing in the Northern Counties East League this season.
For the first time in our history, we reached the final of the Notts Senior Cup, where we lost 2-0 to Hucknall Town in a game which was played at Meadow Lane.

Who are your rivals?
When it comes to rivals, a fair few Tevie fans hate Sutton Town with a passion. They started up a few years ago under the name of 'North Notts', then assumed the name of Sutton Town, and decided to take on the old club's history too. Much to the disgust of many of the old and original Sutton Town supporters.

How many supporters would you normally get for a home league game?
Canarvon Street Ground
Our average home gate last season was about 100. (Highest - 259, Lowest - 62) Last Saturday, we played Mansfield Town (lost 4-0) and 558 came through the gate - our best crowd for many a year.

Who should the Notts fans look out for in your team and why?
Steve Gomm - last season's top scorer with 24 goals in total. Matt Fletcher (if playing) and new signing Andy Woodcock will want watching too.
If the 'Pies play Dave Kettle, who you had from us at the end of last season, we'll have to watch him. After all, we know what he can do.

What are your (realistic!) hopes for next season?
To finish in a better position than last season.

What is Teversal’s nickname?
I'm not sure we have an official nickname, but if there was to be one it would more than likely be 'The Tevie Boys'. Even the local radio station has started calling us the Tevie Boys.

'The Tevie Boys'
Research I've done into the history of the club brings up names in match reports as 'The Colliers' and 'The Miners', whether these were official nicknames is unsure, they may have been down to the reporter at the time, as many variations of the team's name appears too.

Score prediction?
A draw would be nice. A win would be better. If it's a gloriously sunny day, like last weekend when the Stags came over, everyone will be happy.
