Fan's View 2005/06: Barnet

Last updated : 15 July 2005 By Richard Brown

With the new season just around the corner, Notts County MAD have gone flat-out to produce a comprehensive run-down of the County’s League Two opposition, with a twenty-three part Q & A session with a representative from each and every club in League Two for the coming season.

Part one, a look at Barnet, goes as follows…

Name: Iain Dalziel
Web-site: This is Bees

How long have you been a supporter of the club?

2005-06 will be my seventh season

What is your view of Notts County going on previous meetings?

I’ve never seen Barnet play them!

Who of your current crop do you think will cause the rest of the League problems this year?

Former Notts man, Ian Hendon
Watch out for Grazioli up front, along with Dean Sinclair, Nicky Bailey and Richie Graham in midfield. Always dangerous going forward and always likely to score.

Give us some background as to your current situation…

On the pitch it's got better and better in the last two years, however, off it we're in an on-going drama with the council regarding a new ground. It's been going on for a decade and we're still no closer to a solution.

Any signings and/or departures worthy of note over the summer?

At the present time we're yet to sign anyone, except new contracts to our current players. However, our signings are likely to be from non-league due to our financial situation. Scott Kerr of Scarborough and Stuart Thurgood of Grays Athletic have been linked.

Do you have the right manager in place?

Paul Fairclough is a God! What he did last year was amazing, only Barry Fry is above him in the pecking order for our greatest ever manager.

Tenth place!? Get in!
Anyone in League Two you feel you should look out for?

Darlington will be strong, but League Two is always quite unpredictable, depending on summer signings a lot of teams could be considered play-off contenders.

Where do you think your side will finish this season?

I'm optimistic, so top ten – maybe pushing for the play-offs!
