Mendes takes on Mansfield's Johnny Mullins in his last Notts appearance
Mendes (30) teamed up with the Imps shortly after playing in Notts' 0-0 draw with Mansfield Town - a game in which he was Man of the Match performing as a right winger.

However, a spat with Notts boss Thompson led to a loan move to the Imps, which after two starts and four substitute appearances - has been extended until the end of the season.

Now Mendes has revealed he definitely doesn't have a Magpies future.

"Not long after I joined Lincoln, the manager put me on the transfer list, so my career at County looks to be over," he told the Lincolnshire Echo.

With a year still left to run on his Meadow Lane deal, Thompson is likely to command a fee. However, it doesn't seem to have deferred Imps Head Coach John Schofield who looks set to start Mendes when the Imps travel to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

"I've really enjoyed it here and I'm glad they've extended my loan," said Mendes.

"If Lincoln come calling and offered me something permanent then of course I would like to stay.

"I think John Schofield is a very good manager. I like his style and his training methods are good."

Yet to score a goal, Mendes has revealed he is claiming the one that wasn't given at Darlington which he believes definitely crossed the line.

"I'm still claiming it as my first goal," he said.
