Scoffham's return goes according to plan

The 21-year-old forward played 65 minutes in the reserves' 1-1 draw with Grimsby Town yesterday afternoon.

And the former Gedling Town frontman suffered no reaction from the twice broken leg that kept him on the treatment table for such a length of time.

He's back!
After an understandably quiet performance, the pacey star should again be involved in the second-string's match next Wednesday against Halifax.

The whole-hearted star signed for The Magpies' last February from local non-league outfit Gedling for a fee of £5,000.

He didn't take long to adjust to professional football, featuring in every first team game he was available for before breaking his leg on the final day of the season against Oldham.

The Nottingham-based player has made 15 first team appearences, and scored two goals.

He will be hoping to make a swift return to first team action as he seeks to earn a new contract for next season, with his current deal expiring this summer.

The reserve team, also featuring first-team members Chris Palmer and Matty Williams in unusual roles of left back and central midfield respectively, earned the 1-1 draw thanks to a goal from Williams.
