Don Goodman exclusively told Football League World “I don’t think there’s any doubt Notts County clearly function better when David McGoldrick is fit and firing.
“The six-week period that he was out saw them win two, lose two and draw three over the seven games and that was after they’d been on a brilliant unbeaten run, winning mostly.
“So absolutely, 100% he’s a key, they've got to keep him fit. When you look at the numbers, he’s scored 14 goals this season in the league from 22 starts, coming off the bench a few times, so he’s played 29 games.
“It’s impressive in anybody’s language, but particularly impressive when you factor in his age.
“He’s still got the desire, he’s got the motivation and Notts County are still well and truly in for an opportunity to get to the top three, just two points off it, to secure automatic promotion. He will contribute.”
