“The focus was always trying to get the club back up because we were in a sticky situation of not being able to sign players,” he said.

“I am sure for the manager as well it must have been more difficult because you have all these targets you want to sign, but each day they are probably signing for different clubs.

“But we are in a great position and Notts County is a big name, it’s an attractive club with its stadium and the fan base that it has.

“I always felt that somebody would take a chance on it and fortunately it happened.

“My focus was always trying to get promoted and once the owners came in we knew things were going to change right away.

“We started signing players and looking around I couldn’t be happier with the players I am playing with.

“We are in crunch time now and we’ve got to go and prove ourselves.”
