Club to announce new signing

Last updated : 04 February 2005 By Richard Brown

In a somewhat unusual decision for the club, the Magpies have, in circumstances echoing that of the ‘unveiling’ of one Wayne Henderson, decided today, chosen to announce the club’s latest addition prior to tomorrow’s derby-day at the ‘Lane, as they entertain bitter rivals, Mansfield Town at Fortress ‘Lane.

Ian Richardson, who has not made a single signing since the return of ‘keeper Henderson on loan, is expected to announce the club’s latest coup around noon today, although the identity of this mystery man is very much…well, a mystery.

However, with County legend Tommy Johnson this week agreeing a pay-off with former club,
Gillingham, he remains the fans’ favourite for the role. Out-of-favour F*rest striker David Johnson, namesake to Tommy, has also been, albeit jokingly, linked with the move.

Stay tuned to NCM for all the latest developments from the club as they happen.
