Experienced Notts County midfielder has signed a new one-year contract with the club, after weeks of speculation about the former Watford and QPR man's future. Mahon had initially signed a pay-as-you-play deal last season, but this was extended after a number of commanding performances. However, Keith Curle dropped Mahon towards the end of last season as he wished to renegotiate the 36 year-olds deal - which he has now signed. He is likely to be battling with Neal Bishop and new signing Gary Liddle for a place in Curle's central midfield.
